Veggy Becomes Fall Classic!

Inaugural October Event Is Huge Success!

22^nd annual Veggy Open, October 2018

New dates, new format, same awesome time hanging together!

Freck, Gilly, Spider, Scooter and Wally arrived October 4^th and enjoyed spending time with Chris Reif at Dick’s Last Resort. Tommy, Roar, Red, Travy & Derfy arrived Friday. We enjoyed wings, cold ones and a toast to Joe Smithers at Hooters Friday evening. Joe will forever be in our hearts/memories.

Saturday morning, Da Big Guy and Hazzy arrived for 9:00 am morning happy hour, shirt unveiling and Wally’s words of Wisdom.

We played golf at Black Mountain, best value west of the Mississippi! Way different playing in 75 degree vs. 120 degree heat! Similar results, as Redneck shot 94 to win his 4^th Veggy Open Championship. Scooter was close to achieving 10 time with a 97. Freck shot 99, with no “F” bombs, Tommy had a 107 and Travy finished in the top 5 with a 108.

Gilly won the 1^st senior Veggy with a 113. He’s over 60 and way old!

Sunday was NFL football and pickleball day. Wally was on his way to winning his 1^st dreamed/coveted VO Championship, but got rained out. We stopped at Ellis Island and Stage Door before returning to Ex Caliber for an awesome day. Oh yea, at Ellis Island Casino, we forgot Da Big Guy was in the trunk and left him locked in the parking lot for a while!

Monday was the 1^st team Veggy Championship, all so competitive!

Narke & Red won with an 81, Da Big Guy really stepped up his game. Freck/Hazzy shot 84, Scooter/Gilly had 85, Tommy/Wally shot 86 and Hoffman connection Travy/Derfy shot 90. The “pair” trophy hangs proudly over the Narke mantle.

Very fun dinner at Buca, the Padre statue eyeing us all night long!

Although family comes 1^st, Our Veggy motto remains the same, Life is precious, spend time with friends while you can.
